This homeowner fortunately had most of his project completed. After his contractor disappeared, he found that the pool was not built to code and fought for 3 months with the city to let him move on. It was also found by many experts that his plumbing was not going to work properly. So he had to tear some of it out prior to completing the job. He ended up spending $15000 more than he had originally budgeted.

And that did not include all of the landscaping and concrete decks. His original total budget was $90,000. It was going to cost another $110,000 to get the backyard the way he intended it, which did not include the $70,000 that was already lost. The homeowner ended up just filling in the hole which cost him antoher $10,000. He is still trying to get what he can back from the contractor. He is not hopefull.
